Medical Emergencies

Murdoch Campus: Dial 333 (for internal phones)

Rockingham Campus: Dial 7333 (for internal phones) or 9553 7333 (for external line)

Peel Campus: Dial 5555 (for internal phones) or 9582 5555 (for external line)

In the case of a medical EMERGENCY dial one of the above numbers. The number rings through to an open access line, alerting immediately the nurse, the emergency response team or a first aid officer, and/or ambulance service.

The Health Service provides quality medical and nursing services on campus.

The services of both the nurse and doctors are available to all full-time, part-time or external students enrolled at Murdoch University. Currently, no clinical services are provided at Rockingham or Peel Campuses; the nurses, however, conduct health promotion activities at each campus.

The on-campus, bulk-billing GP service provides consultations to students only. Unfortunately, due to the heavy student patient load, access to GPs is focused on meeting the medical needs of Murdoch's student population.

Staff may see the campus nurse on a walk-in basis at no cost. Staff requiring on-going medical care should ensure they have their own GP off-campus.

Opening Hours

A registered nurse is in attendance daily Monday to Friday during the following sessions: 10am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-3:30pm.

The nurse can be contacted at other times between 9am -4:30pm for matters of priority and emergency.

Doctors are in attendance on Monday to Friday usually from 8.30am.

Making An Appointment

You will need an appointment to see one of the doctors and these can be made by calling in at reception or calling 9360 2293. Appointments are available on a daily basis.

You can see the nurse by just calling in, or by making an appointment on 9360 2293.

Costs

All nursing and first aid services on campus are free to students. Staff are asked to pay a $5.00 fee only if extensive resources are used.

The campus doctors bulk bill patients.

International students who have current health cover with OSHC Worldcare and Medibank Private will have their consultation fee to see a doctor paid by direct billing to their health care provider.
